Samantha Bell
My name is Samantha Bell and I live in the upstate of South Carolina with my husband, four children, and lots of animals. Growing up in central Florida, I always said I wanted to be an artist, and my mom and dad took me back and forth to art lessons for a number of years. I even entered a local art contest and won a few ribbons. Talk about great family support!

Throughout high school and college, I became interested in music and history. A few years after I graduated, I decided to pursue drawing again, re-learning and improving my skills through lessons and practice. I then began teaching children ages 4 – 18 and have continued to do so over the past fourteen years. Now with children of my own, I never have a shortage of students!
Although my degree is in history, I have received instruction from both fine artists and illustrators. I love to learn, and I love learning new techniques and methods for creating my work. Please take a look at my online
gallery
and my
current projects blog.
My favorite subjects to draw or paint are wildlife, nature, and family portraits. I would be happy to create a
portrait in pencil
for you.
What else do I do? Well, during the day I homeschool my children, and we're involved in quite a few activities throughout the year. More about that on my
homeschooling blog.
I also enjoy writing and illustrating, especially for children. My articles, poems, and stories have appeared in several publications, and I’ve illustrated several
picture books.
Please take a moment to view my
online portfolio
as well.
